God’s Plan

I’ve been thinking a lot about God’s plan. Not just for me, but for everyone.

Stuff happens every day that is unexpected. A lot of the time, we don’t understand the meaning behind it.

We try to understand, to make sense of it. To find some kind of explanation.

Truth is, there is only one who knows: our God. We have to learn to trust in Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding“. Proverbs 3:5

The Lord does not forsake. He does not abandon.

He loves and He protects. He gives us His unfailing love.

“‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord‘”. Isaiah 54:10

I always think of the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). It’s a really great example of the kind of love that God has for us.

God’s love is the one love that will never fail you. No matter how many times you turn your back on Him.

No matter how many times your faith may falter.

No matter how many sins you have committed.

To give His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins“. Luke 1:77

The Lord wants us to come to Him. He knows our doubts and worries.

He knows the desires of our hearts.

He wants us to trust in Him to take those weights off our shoulders.

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken“. Psalm 55:22

But the thing is, He knows where we are going.

He has written your story.

God goes before us.

To give us hope.

To pick up the pieces when we fall apart.

To heal us.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future‘”. Jeremiah 29:11

The Lord has a reason for everything. We aren’t supposed to know all those reasons.

We are supposed to put all our trust and faith in Him.

Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see“. Hebrews 11:1

All things happen and are revealed to us in His perfect timing.

But it is also important to remember that we are human. We are allowed to have feelings.

We are allowed to hurt; to want answers.

But we can’t dwell on those feelings. We have to move forward.

We have to faith. Faith is the only way that we can heal.

Remember that our God is faithful. He will not forsake you.

“‘I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born,’ says the Lord‘”. Isaiah 66:9

I have to remind myself of this a lot. Especially recently.

But, God has a plan for me, and you, too.

It is greater than we could ever imagine.

Great things are ahead, we just have to wait on His timing.

It will be worth the wait.

Much Love ❤

The song “Grace to Grace” by Hillsong Worship really has touched me this week.

When I see that cross, I see freedom

When I see that grave, I’ll see Jesus.

And from death to life, I will sing Your praise,

In the wonder of Your grace.

My chains are gone, my debt is paid,

From death to life, from grace to grace.

  1. No truer words than these, Em. I don’t know where I would be without God. I’m reading a book right now about His plans for us: It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way. It’s all about how His plans aren’t ours, but His plans are greater. Love you, girl!
