; <– that’s a semicolon. Authors use it when they could have ended a sentence, but chose to continue it. Something to think about.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Let’s talk about it.

I have been fortunate enough to never have encountered suicide, severe depression or anything of the sort on a personal level, but I know that there are so many people in the world that do. So many people live with depression, whether diagnosed or not that they can’t control. And, in some cases, it can lead people to believe that they have no way out. No one who cares for them, no one who loves them, no one who wants them.

That they are useless, not worthy of love.

My heart aches for those people. I wish there was something I could do to help them.

But I can’t stress enough how incredibly wrong they are. No one is ever alone, no one is ever unloved. I know that not everyone is religious or spiritual or anything like that, but that doesn’t stop God from wanting them, from loving them. Every single person on this Earth is loved and wanted by Him. No one is an exception. He is always on your side, always in your corner. Even when you feel alone, He is always standing right next to you.

I know that sometimes the darkness in our lives can seem suffocating like there will never be an end. That’s the thing about the devil, he likes to make people think that they don’t have any options, like they won’t ever be happy again. But God tells us that we will. His goodness will bring us into the light again. I always try to remember that the darkness we experience is always something to learn from, not something that we should be ashamed of. We carry those experiences with us our whole lives as a reminder of how far we’ve come. Your past shapes you, be proud of it.

Remember that every day is a blessing. Even if all you did today was exist, you’re here. You have no idea how incredibly strong that makes you.

You are not useless. You are not unworthy of love. You are not alone.

You are loved. You are strong. You are brave. You are enough. You are always, always enough. Don’t let anyone, even yourself, ever tell you any different.

Check on the people you care about. Even the ones that seem happy. You never know what demons someone may be dealing with. It is ridiculously easy to be nice to others.  Treat people with kindness, always.

much love always,

emily :))

the song of the post is “Starts and Ends” by Hillsong UNITED. The bridge sings this over and over:

Lay your burden down upon Him

Let this serve as a reminder that God is our refuge and salvation. We can always go to Him for our troubles and worries, and He will be there to console and heal.
